Hi all, just joined up today...thus far this looks like an active and informative place...
Anyhoo, about me...I've been in Vegas for 6 years now but am on the verge of being relocated to Portland OR for work.
Looks like the CCW laws (as we call them in NV) are similar in OR so am looking forward to carrying in OR when I get there and go through the certification process. OR residents please feel free to chime in here, I could use some feedback if there’s anything I need to know about the process up there…
As bad as things can be here in Vegas, I've never had to draw on anyone, fortunately...the closest I've been I suppose to anything like that was when I swept my house after my alarm went off while I was at work...big fun lol...
As you all know, 99.9% of personal protection is about awareness...using your weapon is the very last step in a series of things we can all do protect ourselves.
I am also proud to say that I convinced my g/f to exercise her legal right to carry a few years ago…she works in a casino and carries large amounts of $ during the long walk to/from her casino's employee parking lot. Also got her a pink taser a few years ago...you know women and their need to accessorize lol...there's no shortage of scumbags here that would do just about anything to get their hands on easy $ from a small woman...they're in for a surprise or two if they try to get the drop on her lol, but I digress...
Oh and if you're wondering, I carry an 9mm HK P2000 SK 99% of the time, modified w/a custom grip and a trigger pull of 2lbs…nice and light! Traded a Mossberg SPX autoloader and a Glock model 19 for it, a fair deal in my book. The other 1% of the time I carry my FNH 5.7...which is a fantastic weapon if you're considering one...20+1 capacity, very light and incredibly accurate...just a bit too big for everyday carry in my opinion. Plus after squeezing the HK’s trigger so many times I can hardly tolerate the feel of the 5.7’s factory trigger…
I also own an FNH PS90, a Mossberg 17 HMR and Marlin .22 LR for plinking…that gun has sentimental value as it was the first gun I ever bought, the day I turned 18…ah how time flies…
Oh and about the 17HMR…perfect gun for Tannerite! Those that know Tannerite are probably getting a good chuckle right now lol…
Thank you sir...OR is a well-kept secret, at least as far as I can tell.
Absolutely beautiful up there...clean and 'normal' from what I can see in my few recent trips to the area...the opposite of Vegas, and that's just fine by me!
Ah that's right...won't be far from you Canadians either...I used to live in Buffalo so I'm used to you puck-slapping, maple suckers already lol...I kid, I kid...all in good fun!!!
What are Canadian carry laws like? Fairly strict I imagine(?)...

Thanks all...see what I mean? Active place...sure to learn a bunch now that I'm here...wish I had found this place sooner...thanks for the kind greetings.
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."
