New Gun Owner from Kansas
Hello everyone. I've relied on your threads here for a while for various subjects.
I'm now old enough to purchase a pistol (although my grandfather gave me a very nice Ruger .22 revolver three years ago). After much debate, I've more or less decided on a Glock 19 as my self-defense/carry pistol. Being a student, I'm not allowed to carry 5 days out of the week, so I wouldn't necessarily benefit from a sub-compact gun. Hopefully I'll get a Kel Tec PF9 or something similar for my EDC.
I've done shooting with friends and family using handguns ranging from 1911, .38 snubby, 9mm and even .50 cal.
I've decided on a 9mm partly because I need to practice, and that means getting a round I can afford to shoot. Were I very experienced, I'd get a Glock 23 (.40 cal). I'm more concerned about accurate follow-up shots at this point. I've been told I'm a good shot, and I think I can get real good.
Glad to be here!
P.S. Just curious, how much more expensive are the .40s at this point, at least in your areas?

Welcome Isaac. Congratulations and welcome to this forum and our important sport. Enjoy shooting whatever you own. There are a lot differences in ammo prices. Go down to YOUR supplier and ask him the differences in ammo prices locally. The main thing is practice, practice, practice, and if your a competent gun owner carry all the time.
