S. Indiana carrier.
Found the site about a week ago. Joined, first chance I had to introduce myself.
I started carrying because I've had a couple of negative run-in's with past tennants from my job. Being a fair and consistant correctional officer usually makes running into past inmates a non-confrontational affair but there are some that take anything you say or do and turn it into an issue that carries over to the outside. Thus, I started carrying.
I've been shooting rifles and handguns since I was about 4 years old and while I'm an ok shooter I am always trying to learn so that I can be better.
Mainly joined the site to gather information on how to better carry and to learn the ins and outs of doing so.
Hope to learn and maybe even teach a thing or two.
Figured I'd add a couple of pictures of what I'm carrying at any given time. Minus the ammo boxes of course. While out and about I am loaded with Speer Gold Dot but will be switching soon to Federal HST rounds. The Gunsite is my B-Day present from the wife. The Inova T4 flashlight is used at work and if I even THINK I'll be out after dark its on my side in an Uncle Mike's ASP Baton holster (perfect fit).

"He went on two legs, wore clothes and was a human being, but nevertheless he was in reality a wolf of the Steppes. He had learned a good deal . . . and was a fairly clever fellow. What he had not learned, however, was this: to find contentment in himself and his own life. The cause of this apparently was that at the bottom of his heart he knew all the time (or thought he knew) that he was in reality not a man, but a wolf of the Steppes."

I should add that if I decide to apply at one of the local police departments (yes, there is a particular one but I choose not to list it) I will also be purchasing a .40 as they prefer that caliber be used. I could carry my .45 but I would rather have an all black gun so as to be not so visible in a pull and tuck behind the back situation.

If I see correctly, you have the .45 Pro. How do you like the DA/SA??? I have the .40 in DAO. I shoot well with it but it has a LOOONG trigger. I'd kinda like to try the DA/SA.

Well, I can't offer a long in-depth but I can simply say I like it a lot. The pull is somewhat light but very consistant. If needed, the double action is there.
