New member here, saying Hi. I'm not carrying yet, but after the tides started to turn in my neighborhood, I'm looking towards it.
I have had an on-again-off-again love affair with firearms since I was a toddler shooting with my dad, though, and here lately it's been in the full on-again mode. :)
I noticed a large (!) number of you guys seem to be in NC for some reason, so I was thinking I might hopefully meet some other people interested in shooting generally, even if I'm not among the defensive carry crowd just yet. ;)
Working towards finding a firearm I CAN conceal on my small frame, while brushing up on my (woefully inadequate right now!) handgun skills, then it'll be CCW for me; open carry is just not an option for me personally - I'll throw it out there up front, I've got piercings and tattoos and wear my hair in a mohawk, etc, so be forewarned, if you're judgmental about that sort of thing. I'm a bit of an outcast in the shooting world, but I'm no criminal or gangbanger wanna-be or any of the other crap people like to assume...
Anyways - Hello! :D

Heh. I've had more piercings than I can remember, but I keep the concealable ones - Ears and septum, and a few ah, more discrete ones. Try walking into a gun shop or show with a "bull ring" and a "punk haircut." ;)
Of course, I can take my piercings out, throw on a long sleeve dress shirt, put my hair down (Or shave it, if necessary,) and look pretty normal, which is exactly what I do on a day-to-day basis since I work in a professional field. Which is how I like it, now.
