Liberty Over Tyranny Μολὼν λαβέ
Hi Chief. It is soooooo refreshing to have a progun point of view from somebody at your lofty position. I live in a suburb of Miami FL. The City of Miami Chief of Police is originally from Boston (I think) and he's as antigun as they come. My own chief of police in Coral Gables was run out of the dept on a rail over two votes of noconfidence, low morale and the public humiliation from having the chief suffer not one but TWO UNintentional firearms discharges in a year. In the first incident, the chief was emerging from his office bathroom and somehow his Glock M23 went off and destroyed the toilet. A few months later the chief was at a local gym working out. He apparently "secured" his Glock 23 in a simple gym locker. At the end of the workout he was dressed and in the process of reholstering the Glock when it went off....TWICE directly into the locker. I understand the locker died instantly. So did the chief's career.....sorta. He retired and immediately came back on board as a "consultant" at 4x his previous salary! Go figure!
Welcome! Sorry for my rant, it wasn't "aimed" at you!

Greatest bunch o' guys and gals eager to talk firearms and profess the right to defend one'self, family, and vulnerable third parties! I'm new here as well, but have already enjoyed the contact received and given.
I'm ex-LEO from AZ living in California shaking my head in disbelief how anti-gun politics bend and sway favoritism from the poobah law makers here ... over the ability to provide welfare and safety to the family unit Just the difference in the states either saying, "We trust and allow you to keep lethal force open or hidden for defense purposes until you prove otherwise VS. We don't trust you until you prove to us you have a valid need for a firearm." Can't wait to get back to the desert in a few! Welcome again and look forward to your contributions which we know you will have many.
