Hey from NC
New to forum this week. Just found the site during one of my searches on a firearm related topic on the web. This forum seems to have a wealth of information and a lot of folks who will take the time to weigh in on issues which I find helpful.
I have carried on and off for about six years (ever since I left Northern California a place I loved but where I felt like a pair of brown shoes in a tuxedo world everytime the issue of firearms was discusssed).
Thanks for being here.

Welcome. I am planning a visit to NC this summer where my son lives. I plan to carry as I have non-resident permits that allow it. Any advice you can give me what I can or cannot do would be appreciated.

Havegun Joe - As some states obviously differ I will state what may be the obvious. Do not carry into a bar or a restaurant where alcohol is served. Do not carry into a church. If stopped by the law for whatever reason make sure you tell them that you are carrying. Make sure your state and NC have reciprocity and that you carry your permit. More and more folks are putting the NO FIREARMS ALLOWED signs on their businesses.
Funny thing about NC is that you can shoot someone who is breaking into your house but it gets really muddy if you shoot them after they are inside. Go figure. Not sure what your carry laws are like in Minnesota compared to ours so you might want to go to the NRA site and do a cursory review just to be safe. Hope that helps. Feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

Welcome NC! I used to live just outside of Wilmington and loved that state. Some days I wish I were still there. Glad to have you aboard.
