Glad to be here, a little firearms background on me:

I grew up as a hunter. I still have my bolt action .270 win and 20 gauge Mossberg. I've always been interested in firearms, but spent too much time just trying to make enough money to survive to afford the time or capital to get further into it. Then I went to Iraq with my National Guard unit and had all the time I wanted to have good fun with all the firearms I could get my hands on. I learned alot, I learned that I'm good at teaching marksmanship and other skills I hope will be usefull to me. Since returning I've purchased a Mosin-Nagant M44 and a CZ-52. I enjoy both of them, and I am on the range at least once a week improving my procifiency.

I have done basic firearms training for several friends, and people that seemed obviously lost on the range. My last training session was a huge success, taking a young lady from afraid but willing to try, to keeping all her shots in the outer ring. She not only learned a little about firearms, but carried away more confidence in her own ability to learn new things. I desire to become an NRA certified instructor. I love teaching people firearms safety and marksmanship. I hope to develop it into a home-based business to support my own shooting habit.

Thanks for the welcome. PA seems to be a good state for being a firearms fan. There are ranges everywhere it seems! I constantly hear rifle fire when I am going to and from my truck at my local community college. I eventually had to check it out... Turns out there's a very nice club on the very next hill. I'm excited.

Only about 120 miles to your ESE. Yes indeed, PA is pretty good for the gun owner and CCW - for which I am much appreciative.

Amitalou is having difficulty finding someone will to teach her about firearms and shooting. She is not close to Pittsburgh as far as I can tell, but you may be able to help her via email or maybe you know someone closer to her that can help her with training. The service was my pleasure. I only gave it up so that my poor wife would know what I look like. McKeesport is really close to me, I'll have to check into it. I'd like to find a way to make it my weekend job. I'm going to have to look into the cost and where to do it, then find if someone will hire me to train under their business, or if I should just go solo. I would almost preffer solo and do one on one, but that might not be cost effective for a student. What are your thoughts?

I'm relatively new at CC and have never been very good with pistols still learning. My wife is the shooter in the family. I am one who just loves to teach - anything. When you get around to reading some of the posts for the last month or so my are the LOOOONG ones. I tend to teach in them too. I try to control myself. The one bit of advice I will give you can apply to other things besides teaching: practice, practice, practice.
