I am a new member to this forum and I am very pleased with the quality of the posts here . Here is my everyday carry setup and a short bio:
I carry a modified CZ 75B SA 9mm in a Galco Vertical Shoulder Holster without tie down straps, hence I wear the rig closer to the arm pits. The Galco I adapted is for a Colt 5" 1911, it fits the CZ 75B SA very well. The finger break snap is a little tight at first however within a few hours of the gun in the new holster it works well. In the two mag pouches I carry a pair of 16 round mags, which fit the pouches perfectly. I like the vertical holster because IMO it is very concealable (or not for OC). I only feed the CZ the very best +P 9mm ammunition. My CZ setup is like a Browning Hi-Power.
Since the cross draw can create issues in close quarters, I always carry two BUGs. First a Beretta EL 950 BS with mother of pearl grips which I carry in a Guru pocket holster and a modified Colt 1908 vest pocket pistol with ivory grips that has been passed down in my family since it was purchased in 1909, which I carry in a wallet. I carry several additional mags for the BUGs, which are contained in a special leather wallet I had custom made. The BUG ammo wallet is small and the 950 mag bases are gold. I use FMJ and Gold Dot ammo for the BUGs. I carry a modified Paul Protector knife too.
My education is as a research chemist and high energy particle physicist (LANL visiting scientist). In the 1990s I trained USMC F.A.S.T. in direct action asymmetric methods as an indpendent consultant to General Charles Krulak, former USMC commandant, (for which he wrote me a commendation).
Finally, my favorite day of the week is Sunday, (hence my DefensiveCarry Concealed Carry Forum ID). All the best to the forum and happy holidays!
