I was in the house about 5:15 pm getting ready for a church dinner and saw a police car flying past the front of our house on the avenue lights and sirens going.

Saw this in the paper online today. This Dollar General Store is about 8 blocks away and we occasionally go there. There is some video if you check the link.

I guess the thugs are coming out of the woodwork nowadays.

Surveillance video released Wednesday shows an armed robbery that took place about 5:05 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010, at the Dollar General in the 900 block of 14th Street West.

HUNTINGTON -- The Huntington Police Department hopes a surveillance video released Wednesday can help its detectives catch an armed robber. The video can be viewed at The Herald-Dispatch.

The armed robbery took place about 5:05 p.m. Monday at the Dollar General. It is located in the 900 block of 14th Street West.

The video shows a man walking into the store and confronting the clerk. Reports indicate he entered the store with a gun and left with an undetermined amount of cash.

Anyone with information about the man seen in the video should call detectives at 304-696-4420.

Officers at the scene used a canine to search the area, but the effort did not lead to an immediate arrest.
