I just do not understand how this happens at gun shows when every gun 'appears' to be locked down. Scary thought though when I think of how many times I see people pointing guns at other people while there.

Wonder if someone cc'd a loaded firearm in?

Just one more stupid incident that costs all of us gun owners a bunch of points against us.

Amen to that. The anti's don't need to make a case, we'll do it for them.

Apparently a dealer brought a loaded gun to the show.

Man Shot At Denver Gun Show - Denver News Story - KMGH Denver

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. -- One person was shot Saturday afternoon at the Denver Merchandise Mart during a gun show.

The Adams County Sheriff Office confirmed one man was shot at the Tanner Gun Show, which was being held at the Denver Merchandise Mart at Interstate 25 and 58th Avenue. The man was taken to Denver Health Medical Center in unknown condition.

Witnesses tell 7 News that the man was unconscious after being shot.

The witnesses said the incident happened when a gun vendor was demonstrating a gun he was selling. He aimed the gun and pulled the trigger, accidentally shooting the customer.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Candi Baker said it is illegal to have a loaded gun at a gun show.

"...the gun vendor was demonstrating a gun he was selling. He aimed the gun and pulled the trigger, accidentally shooting the customer."

Why in the world would a vendor have a loaded firearm in the first place? And why would a vendor, of all people, demonstrate with a loaded firearm?

No cure for stupid. He should never be allowed to own a firearm again. That's my 2 cent rant.

Even it it was loaded, the 4 rules, properly applied, would have prevented this accident. By simply clearing the chamber, this was totally preventable.

Familiarity breeds contempt, while stupidity enables accidents.

And that's why I don't go to the gun shows at the Merchandise Mart. This is the third or fourth time this has happened there.

I've got a better chance on Colfax or Federal than I do at the gun show.

You never point a weapon at anyone you do not want to shoot.

WTH!?!?!? I'm glad I didn't go today! I was there a couple of years ago when some idiot vendor had a loaded gunin his case that got fired! Scared the HECK out of my family and I and it made me stay away from the gun show scene for quite a while!

Gunshows are probably the number one location for basic firearms rules being thrown out the window. Many times over and over carelessness can be witnessed at the shows. This is not the first time that a ND has occurred at a gunshow and will not be the last time either. What ever happened to clearing a weapons chamber before doing anything else.

A buddy and I practice weapons clearing on a regular basis, when one of us checks out the others new toy the owner locks the slide or bolt to the rear or opens the cylinder.

Clearing a weapon is a courtesy of bygone days I guess. I even clear a weapon at the dealer when I look at it, I sometimes get weird looks like hey jack^(^ it can't be loaded......

Not at all. I ALWAYS clear my weapon before handing it off to someone else. Not only that, I make sure that they do it as well. It's simple... no ammo, no accident.
