Home Invasion Leads To Deadly Shooting
Police continued Monday to investigate a deadly shooting in Perry Hall and have released the names of the homeowner and the man who was shot.
Marvin Cook Jr., 29, died in the Sunday morning incident, police said.
Officers responded at about 5:45 a.m. Sunday to a home in the 4200 block of Chapel Road.
Detectives discovered that the homeowner, William Bozman Sr., 68, was asleep when he was awakened by a suspect who entered his bedroom.
Cook pointed a handgun at Bozman and demanded money, police said.
Bozman retrieved a handgun he had nearby and pointed it at Cook, ordering him to drop his gun, according to police.
Cook then advanced toward Bozman, who fired several shots, police said.
Cook was taken to Franklin Square Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No charges have been filed.
The incident left neighbors startled.
Its a nice neighborhood, one resident said. Its very seldom you ever see a police car.

A happy ending is when the home invader ends up 6 feet under.

Thumbs way up for the good guy!

A very good reason to keep a handgun close at hand even in your bed room.

Mindset... Mindset... Mindset
Awaken from a sound sleep by someone already in their room pointing a gun at them, and the homeowner wins the fight?
Why that just flies in the face of all those who chide, "You can't beat a gun that's already drawn."
Well, someone had the guts, the mindset and the determination to survive and win the fight and it sure wasn't the bad guy!
While there's never a guarantee of how the outcome, this does show that a proper aggressive mindset can and does have a tangible effect on the outcome of a deadly encounter.
Good job for the homeowner! One less scumbag to prowl and growl inside peoples homes in the middle of the night!

Happy ending for all involved. Home owner does not have to worry about this BG anymore, and probably any other BG's will avoid his house from now on. BG well he's just dead! Tax Payer does not have to foot the bill for a trial, public defender, food and care for next 20 years, college education for BG while he's incarcerated.

It's never good to wake up in bed with a stranger holding a gun on you.
Bravo Zulu on the homeowner and here's hopeing he recovers from the shooting.

No medical treatment at taxpayer expense, no costly trial and no costly incarceration-it's a win win situation.

Good for the home owner, but it sure does sound strange. Obvious this robber didn't have the guts to be robbing places if he allowed the homeowner to get his weapon and shoot him while he was pointing a weapon at him. Now that's just strange!

There's a lesson to be learned here about old people, but I can't remember what it is.

I am afraid I am a follower of that great movie sage Tuco; "When it's time to shoot........SHOOT, don't talk". I guess I can understand most people’s reluctance to kill another person, but I have had 2 buddies murdered; I guess I'm now more of a copperhead than a rattlesnake.
