Police: Ohio woman dies in spat over Easter attire

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) ó Police in Ohio say a woman was shot to death in an argument with a relative who didnít think she dressed properly for Easter dinner.

Columbus police say 19-year-old Danielle Pickens showed up Sunday night at the home of cousin Evelyn Burgess wearing a T-shirt and jean shorts.

Detective Steven Eppert says 42-year-old Burgess told officers she thought the outfit was inappropriate and disrespectful for Easter dinner.

The women fought, and police say when Pickens walked outside to leave in a car Burgess shot her in the head with a handgun. The younger woman died at a hospital.

Eppert says Burgess told investigators she didnít mean to shoot Pickens.

Burgess is to appear in court Tuesday on a murder charge. Court records donít show an attorney for her.

If they were having an Easter dinner, they obviously should have had some idea what that Holiday represents. There is no place in it for the use of a weapon on a relative, or anyone else. Two lives ruined over something stupid. It just keeps happening over and over.

You can educate ignorance, you can't fix stupid!

    Wow, just wow!

    Brings to mind these words:
"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them."

What's more un-holy? T-shirt and jeans at Easter Dinner....or Killing a family member? That's truly horrible.
