Man Dead After Home Invasion in Carter County
Font Size: OLIVE HILL, Ky. (WSAZ) – One man is dead after a home invasion in Olive Hill Kentucky.
Kentucky State Police in Ashland say it happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday at 320 Clark Hill Avenue. That is the residence of Carl Bright.
KSP tells WSAZ.com that 45-year-old Boyd E. Littleton II was shot by Carl Bright.
The Investigation revealed that Littleton attempted to forcibly gain entry into Bright’s residence by kicking in the rear and front doors of the house. He was shot after kicking in the front door.
Littleton was pronounced dead at the scene.
There have been no charges filed against Bright at this time.
The Alcohol Beverage Control was called to the scene because a large amount of alcohol was confiscated from Bright’s residence. Bright was cited by the ABC for charges relating to the sale and possession of alcoholic beverages in a dry territory.
The Kentucky State Police are still investigating.

Sounds like an unhappy customer.
Sounds like a broke drunk trying to get something on credit,I don't think Carl was really all that "Bright"
"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"
--Mayor Marion Barry, Washington , DC .
Someone forgot to tell him the bar was closed.
"The gun is the great equalizer... For it is the gun, that allows the meek to repel the monsters; Whom are bigger, stronger and without conscience, prey on those who without one, would surely perish."
Maybe Bight (Bright?) thought it was a revenooer...
"Be justified. Blood may be easily wiped from the sword.
It cannot, however, be put back from where it came." --Quicksabre
One month out of moving from Ashland and here is the news I receive?
Well I suppose that is how I would have dealt with someone kicking in my doors too.
I dont have a shady liquor deal on the side though.
BTW: Dry counties are a royal PITA.

Yes alcohol in the home and in possession is legal.
I dont know how or if the authorities know if there was selling going on or what. Maybe like with drugs there is possession with intent to sell if you have a large quantity. Kind of like guilt by association. Maybe it works the same way with the alchol. Could be different for beer, wine, and liquor respectively though.
Being raised in this area, I think it safe to say he was a bootlegger. Kinda a noble tradition around here.
