This happened in one of my favorite places.
It is sad that this guy chose to do it there - the owner is a great guy.

Man who shot himself in Lynnwood pawn shop brought ammunition

    Herald staff

LYNNWOOD — Police say the man who fatally shot himself at a pawn shop near here Tuesday evening brought his own ammunition.

The man walked into Pawn Fathers in the 16400 block of Highway 99, asked to look at a shotgun, loaded the weapon and then shot himself.

He was handed an unloaded gun and used his own ammunition, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

    The man’s identity wasn’t released.

Sounds like the opening scene of "Sunshine Cleaning", a movie that came out a year or 2 ago. Only difference, in the movie, it was in a retail sporting goods store.
Thats no good for the owner, or the suicidee.

Too bad the man didn't bring a mop and bucket along with his ammunition.
What a mess for the Owner.
Sad, people are choosing this way out more and more.

Yesterday we had a 19 year old mother intentionally crash her Miata into a Dr. Pepper Delivery Truck killing her instantly and making sure she had a closed casket. She left a Suicide Note.

And this was one good looking lady just going through a divorce.
I'm sorry for the child and Family.
Prayers with Tears for these people!

It's a real shame the people get to the point of suicide, there is plenty of help out there other than taking your own life, but they do not seem to realize it.

    Serious?

I feel sorry for the shop owner and anyone else who may have been in the shop at the time.

I wonder what they all thought/did as they saw the guy load the shotgun.

    I couldn't imagine...

I would have thought that pawn shop employees would tend to be armed. I'm surprised the suicide didn't get drawn down on as he loaded the shotgun.

He should have grabbed and run out the door first.

Exactly my thought, I mean asking for ammo and then loading up -- yeah, my gun would be out in case he was planning to shoot me or someone else. How the heck are you supposed to know WHAT his intent is at that point? I'm sure not going to wait and SEE what he wants to do once it is loaded...

He didn't ask for ammo, he already had it on him. As far as the shop owner knew, this was just a guy looking at an unloaded shotgun.

Reacting to any situation takes time, more time than people realize. The shop owner would not be able to react until after his brain went through a full thought cycle which could only begin with an outside stimulus. It's not hard to palm a shotshell just long enough to get it into the chamber. At that point, the only clue you've provided is the sound of the shell entering the chamber; a sound that the owner may not instantly recognize especially if you're talking, clearing your throat, coughing, or making some other noise to obscure the sound.

    To bad for the owner,

We had some dude do that here a few years back,
Only he bought the shotgun and wandered around to toasters and blenders loaded here up and pow.

About a year ago I was in the same store and ya know you just can't ever forget that some dude capped him self in that store.
I was at the gun counter looking for a deal and POW, need less to say I kinda crapped My pants,Got in a defensive mind set after that.
Come to find out some constuction was going on in the back of the store and the men were using Ramset tools to set some footers.

After the store owner chewed some butts a simple "fire in the whole"
    helped customers relax.

Poor hapless hopeless idiot...Buy the doggone shotgun...put it on your doggone credit card.

You're gonna kill yourself...what? Are you worried about the C.C. interest charges?

Take your ammo and your newly purchased shotgun out into the woods and do your dirty deed in the middle of nowhere.

At least feed the hungry animals...don't force other people to mop up your bloody mess.

"Sir, if you are going to do that... could you please take it OUTSIDE".

    That sucks.
