    Wal-Mart and Morons

I'm not fond of Wal-Mart on a good day, and I cringe when I read posts about the "Wally World Walk" with either open-carried or concealed weapons. I have to wonder how long this moron has been carrying.

EL MIRAGE, AZ – Police took a man into custody who reportedly accidentally fired one round into the ceiling of a Walmart in front of several people.

El Mirage officers responded to the store located at 12900 W. Thunderbird after receiving reports of shots fired. When police arrived at the store the manager was standing with the suspect.

During the investigation, witnesses told officers 30-year-old David Walter, of Surprise, entered the store with a semi-automatic pistol in a holster. He would reportedly holster the gun and un-holster it as he walked through the store. Witnesses say the suspect ‘continually messed with’ and was manipulating the gun.

Walter was standing at the electronics counter talking to the clerk when he reportedly pulled the gun out of the
holster, removed the magazine and put it back in. The clerk got scared and said she was afraid he was going to rob her and notified the store manager.

Walter again allegedly approached a checkout lane and stood near several customers and workers as he pulled the gun from his holster. As he pulled the gun out it magazine dislodged and fell to the floor.

Walter re-inserted the magazine into the pistol and manipulated it as if loading it when the gun discharged.

The suspect was arrested and booked on six counts of endangerment, disorderly conduct and discharging a weapon within the city limits.

No mention of BAC. What are the odds of him being drunk as well?

What took them so long to call the cops? Un-holstering and re-holstering, repeatedly sounds a lot like brandishing to me.
Not to mention a good way to get himself shot.

What an idiot. Not only did this guy endanger anyone unfortunate to be near him, he provided the anti-gun crowd just the kind of case that they love to cite.

I hate to say it, but I've seen several LEO's with ND's doing exactly the same thing ... either unloading or loading the gun. It's always amazed me. They get desk duty for awhile , I would bet that is not what this guy gets.

"David Walter, of Surprise," OOOHHHHH the irony!

What an idiot. I'm a fan of OC. But if I was in WM with this guy I would have had my hand on my gun and looking for the nearest exit in the opposite direction of where he was headed. Put the holster on, get the adjustment right, THEN LEAVE IT ALONE unless you need to defend yourself.

How did this buffoon get out of the institution on his day pass without a chaperon, let alone having a gun in his possession?
