Sounds like a proper SD shoot to me!

Honest question about some of these shooting at vehicles cases. If a car is attempting to run you down, shouldn't you get out of the way rather than attempt to shoot? If you stand your ground and shoot at a car coming right at you, it seems you still have an extremely high risk of being run over. If you are able to jump out of the way, then the car is no longer a threat to you and perhaps the shooting is no longer justified? Granted, there's a different standard applied to LEOs (risk to the public and all that), but what about normal peeps and armed security guards?

Not much difference someone pointing a gun at you or running you down with a 4,000 automobile. You could wind up just as dead either way.

On one hand I agree with you. Also factor in most non-LE ammo is not designed to reliably penetrate laminated windshield glass, and if you incapacitate the driver then he has NO CONTROL over the speeding weapon.

On the other hand playing chicken with a car is inherently unhealthy and how many chances are you going to give the car to come around?

    It's clear as mud.

True. However, people have a much tighter turn radius than a moving car. But, it seems so easy to simply say that any car trying to drive away is "trying to run over you." How many times is that said when the person who is on foot is intentionally in front of the car? As I said earlier, it seems LEOs get some latitude in these situations, but, as a private citizen or security guard, I would think twice before trying to stop a moving car and subsequently saying that the car was going to run over you.
