Suspect in home invasion shot by homeowner

THONOTOSASSA - Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies are working a burglary and home invasion this afternoon where a homeowner shot a suspect inside the home.

At around 2:30 p.m., the homeowner was sleeping when he heard noises in another part of the home, located at XXXXXXXX. He grabbed his handgun, entered another bedroom and found two men in the room, the sheriff's office said.

The homeowner got into a struggle with one suspect. During the fight, the homeowner shot the suspect, the sheriff's office said.

The injured suspect was transported to Tampa General Hospital. The second suspect ran away the scene.

That always pisses me off as well that they put the address in there. There's no need for that, and it potentially endangers the homeowner.

Well, the home owner survived the incident and one of the dirtbags did get shot.
Unfortunately, the dirtbag will live to rob again.

I hope they catch his partner...

Maybe it will discourage the next BG that is looking for a easy target. I would not want my address released though. But from what i understand Florida has a open records or freedom of information act like no other state, everything is open for the press in Florida..not necessarily a bad thing. Correct me if i am wrong, i think Nancy Grace said that about Florida.
