Good job for the homeowner. It's a shame the "victim" (Good job ABC...) will get treated, spend a week in jail, and then be released on probation. At least he doesn't know where the guy who shot him lives....oh... wait... nevermind.

I hate the media's wording and how they make it sound like the BG is a victim. He is victim of his own stupidity thats its. A hazard of the job in being a BG.

    Yup.

To the media: get it right. The victim was the citizen, the homeowner. The victim caught the criminal in the act of victimizing him ... and the citizen refused, providing the correct response to a criminal in the home: get shot sufficiently to immediately get on the ground and terminate your crime; or, exit immediately in a hail of bullets.

More and more, Texans show they have their heads screwed on correctly with regard to criminals.

Practice? I read that the homeowner scored a hit to the face that ended the incident.

I don't think the report stated what type of firearm he used. But any firearm to the face will probably stop the burgular.

In my humble opinion, the best home defense is a 12 ga. taking into consideration distance to neighbors homes, etc.
