Homeowner talks burglar out of it

Remorseful robber decides not to go through with crime - WXIN

Indianapolis - A remorseful robber unloaded his gun and decided not to go through with a crime, at the urging of a homeowner. Police say the would-be thief hit a home in the 3800 block of Devon Drive Thursday night.

The suspect punched the homeowner in the face, and the two struggled for a gun.
Then, the would-be robber told the man he "has kids and just wants some money."

The homeowner told the thief to empty the gun if he meant what he said, and that's just what he did. The suspect unloaded the weapon before running away.

    A remorseful robber
Now there is an oxymoron if I ever heard one. He wasn't remorseful, he was sad that he got caught! Had the homeowner been armed as well, he may have not been so remorseful and may have used his own firearm on the owner.

The owner let him "run away". Not good. This guy will not stop, he's going to do it again. It was just a sob story to make the owner let him leave. Owner should have held the perp at gunpoint, called 911 and let the Police dispatch this guy to the County Jail.

He shouldn't try that too many times, under the expectation he'll find many more weak-kneed criminals. Many will simply kill him to rid themselves of the useless words.

    "Lucky" is the word.

Well, that's not the best response to this situation!

Victim gets hit in the face, then has to wrestle with the BG for the gun. Who won that one? Did the victim get the gun and then give it back to the BG so he could unload it? Or did the BG win and decide to unload it?

I'm glad I have my own gun, so I don't have to wrestle for it. I'll unload his weapon for him after I ensure that he can't handle it anymore.
