Jeffersonville pharmacist pulls gun on would-be robber

Jeffersonville pharmacist pulls gun on would-be robber, police say | recordonline.com

A baseball-wielding Youngsville man tried to rob a Jeffersonville pharmacy but was thwarted by a gun-wielding pharmacist Wednesday afternoon, according to the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say that Robert Roach, 55, entered Jeff Pharmacy on Route 52 wearing a ski mask and waving a baseball bat about 2:45 p.m. Roach demanded drugs, but fled in a green Chevrolet pickup when the pharmacist, a retired corrections officer, drew a gun.

Police used leads to locate Roach 20 minutes later at a nearby residence, deputies said, and he was arrested trying to flee through the back door. Roach is being held at the sheriff's patrol building pending formal charges.

What's the old saying.....never bring a baseball bat to a gunfight!

Good for the pharmacist being alert and armed. Druggies will do anything to get that next fix and will not stop at harming or killing someone with whatever weapon they choose. They live for the drugs and that only.
