79 year old goes on a rampage at an ATT store

Long story short, he brings a list of 6 names of people he wants to kill. Shoots the first (survived) and was shot and killed by an off-duty cop. Another narrow miss.

Just saw this nonsense on a link from the above page.
    http://www.wktv.com/news/local/95153419.html

Some idiots are screaming about where he got the gun from, as if it makes any difference.
"What this showcases...is how easy it is for someone to possess a gun that is illegal,"
Gah, the GUN wasn't illegal. The ACTION was. Before the shooting the guy had no criminal history in his life.

Congrats to Officer Moore, he definitely saved some lives with his quick thinking actions.

Could of been a lot worse, I wonder how many of the customers are now considering a permit.
You may not like guns. You may choose not to own one. That is your right.
You might not believe in God. That is your choice.
However, if someone breaks into your home at 3AM the first two things you are going to do are:
    1) Call someone with a gun.
2)Pray they get there in time." - A wise man

Another point that needs to be made very clear...the BG had brandished a gun during a previous visit...and AT&T management DID NOT file a police report...

This guy was an incident waiting to happen...and now an innocent person has been critically wounded in part because AT&T did not take proper action...

Authorities believe Dickan could have been even more successful with his list of six victims, if not for the instantaneous actions of Rome Police Officer Donald J. Moore, who was off-duty, but in the store as a customer at the time of the shooting.

"He heard and sees the gun, draws his weapon, and fired," Lt. Little said of Officer Moore's reaction.

Officer Moore was carrying his own .40 caliber handgun.

"It's his own personal choice," said Moore's boss, Rome Police Chief Kevin Beach. "We do encourage our officers to carry off-duty."
The part in bold is exactly the length of explanation anyone in NY should need to give for their permit and the quote as a whole is exactly why the LEOSA legislation should be mirrored for citizens that wish to legally carry.

It sounds like they did infact file a report. If you read the article it says that police went to his home and confiscated the gun he had brandished but that this was a new gun that he ahd gotten somehow and did not register.

I used to work for AT&T... they can make you go nuts! But they are only interested in their profit, not their employees.

Good thing AT&T has a "NO GUNS" policy!

I think there's a lot of emotions going on," Chief Beach said. "To take somebody's life has got to be a traumatic experience. But he also has to realize he saved lives.
Yep - Guns save lives !!

He was able to save lives because he was armed.

So, when will the politicians wake up to that fact.

WoW! Its sad to think what could have gone so wrong(betweeen him and ATT) to cause him to do this.

Just think if it was not a off duty Cop (Who did a great Job). If it was one of us regular Joe's who could not carry in NYS. We may be history.
