Cop Shooting Suspect Wanted In Home Invasion Case

SANFORD -- Deputies in Seminole County are trying to figure out if a man who shot a police officer may have committed another crime.
An 89-year-old man said a man forced his way into his home on Knox Avenue early Saturday morning.
He said the suspect claimed he was the one who shot Sanford Officer Brandon Worrall.
He then stole money before taking off.
The elderly manís home is not far from where the officer shooting happened Thursday night.
Worrall was checking out reports of a suspicious man at the Cedar Creek Apartments when the suspect shot him.
A massive manhunt was launched for the suspect that lasted for hours, but he was never found.
Late Friday night, police released a composite sketch of the suspect.
The suspect is described as:
Height: 6′ Ė 6′ 2″
Weight: 160 to 180 pounds
Black T-shirt and jeans
in his early 20s
Police said they also recovered a hat that may belong to him. The hat is now being tested for DNA.Officer Worrall is now home from the hospital.Police say he was shot in the shoulder. He also had a broken rib and bruised lung.
He was wearing a bullet proof vest, which may have saved his life.
