(June 6) -- An outraged father in French Valley, Calif., was arrested and charged with multiple felonies after allegedly using a stun gun on a man who "sexted" his 17-year-old daughter.
William Atwood Sr., 45, is accused of luring Justin Moore, 23, to his home, ordering him to strip down to his boxer shorts and tasering him on the shoulder. Atwood told authorities he feared for his family's safety after Moore allegedly sent his teen daughter a picture of his genitals.
"It just kind of got out of hand," Riverside County Sheriff's Investigator Veronica Rico told the Press-Enterprise newspaper.
Moore told authorities he agreed to meet with Atwood to discuss the text message. When he arrived at Atwood's home, Moore said the 6-foot-2, 350-pound father of two greeted him with a shotgun, firing a shot into the air mere feet away from Moore, according to KTLA-TV. The younger man told officials that Atwood fired another shot as he dragged Moore into his home, allegedly ordering him to strip down to his boxer shorts and binding his wrists and ankles with zip ties.
Atwood allegedly detained Moore for over an hour, telling him that he had connections with the Pechanga Native-American tribe and was going to have him buried on the reservation, court records said, according to KTLA.
Atwood was charged on Wednesday with making criminal threats, false imprisonment, assault with a stun gun, assault with a deadly weapon and other gun charges.
Moore was not charged in connection with the explicit text message due to lack of evidence, district attorney's spokesman John Hall told The Press-Enterprise.
Approximately an hour before the alleged clash, Atwood called the sheriff's department saying that Moore sent pornography to a child.
