Post Father Allegedly Tasered Man Who 'Sexted' Daughter

As a father I would never take it to this level.

(June 6) -- An outraged father in French Valley, Calif., was arrested and charged with multiple felonies after allegedly using a stun gun on a man who "sexted" his 17-year-old daughter.

William Atwood Sr., 45, is accused of luring Justin Moore, 23, to his home, ordering him to strip down to his boxer shorts and tasering him on the shoulder. Atwood told authorities he feared for his family's safety after Moore allegedly sent his teen daughter a picture of his genitals.

"It just kind of got out of hand," Riverside County Sheriff's Investigator Veronica Rico told the Press-Enterprise newspaper.

Moore told authorities he agreed to meet with Atwood to discuss the text message. When he arrived at Atwood's home, Moore said the 6-foot-2, 350-pound father of two greeted him with a shotgun, firing a shot into the air mere feet away from Moore, according to KTLA-TV. The younger man told officials that Atwood fired another shot as he dragged Moore into his home, allegedly ordering him to strip down to his boxer shorts and binding his wrists and ankles with zip ties.

Atwood allegedly detained Moore for over an hour, telling him that he had connections with the Pechanga Native-American tribe and was going to have him buried on the reservation, court records said, according to KTLA.

Atwood was charged on Wednesday with making criminal threats, false imprisonment, assault with a stun gun, assault with a deadly weapon and other gun charges.

Moore was not charged in connection with the explicit text message due to lack of evidence, district attorney's spokesman John Hall told The Press-Enterprise.

Approximately an hour before the alleged clash, Atwood called the sheriff's department saying that Moore sent pornography to a child.

Personally, I think the father's response was understandable.

As a father of six girls, five of them teenagers, I can understand how he felt; but I hope I have enough self-control to not take it to that level. Turn over the evidence to the police and let them do their job. The dad is going to pay dearly for this.

Yeah, this is probably why I'm not a judge. I'd pat the father on the shoulder and tase the kid again.

If he was a member of any Tribe he should have kept his mouth shut.

Turn pics over to cops AFTER you smack that idiot with a frying pan and tell him why he shouldnt be sending that to a 17 year old... (17 is still a minor, she is NOT legally an adult yet)

The dad should not have tased him or used the shotgun.

He should just have put a fatherly arm around the young mans shoulders and "helped" him down the stairs. ("Honestly your Honor, I tried to catch him when he fell down those stairs, but since I'm older, I'm just not as fast as I used to be. It really is a shame about those broken ribs and smashed face.")

    Really?

I'm shocked at most of the posters here.

That father was lucky that the 23 didn't have a gun of his own because the 23 year old would have been more than justified to take out the father.

I'm not saying that the 23 yo was right in sending nude pics to a minor but some of those comments is just wrong.

Your right, he shouldnt have been tased. He should have been thrown in jail into general population and the guard should have yelled out something about him sending porn to a child... Or he tried getting a minor to sleep with him (he might have been trying to). The beat down he would receive would be SOOO much better then being tased IMO.

The fact the kid walked away says something about the father's self-control.
