    Suicide at my Range/Gunshop Today

I just got a call from a friend that a man shot and killed himself at my local range today. I was just there earlier today and pretty much every day or two this past few years.

*Edit - They corrected their statement and said the man survived the gunshot but is in pretty bad shape. They just posted a video in the link above.

Proven combat techniques may not be flashy and may require a bit more physical effort on the part of the shooter. Further, they may not win competition matches, but they will help ensure your survival in a shooting or gunfight on the street. ~Paul Howe

Difficult, if not impossible, to prevent.

Not to sound heartless, but really. If your going to end your own life, why drag the gun range into it? What a jerk! It makes pro-gun folks look bad! If your cowardly enough to take yourself out and not seek out help/etc, don't punish the gun range for it too!

Don't know the specifics, but I would not be surprised if the gun was rented at the range. We had one like that over the holidays where a woman offed herself at the range with a rented gun.

I'll find out if it was rented if it's not mentioned on the news. It's definitely a BS way of going out. There's a young girl that works there and a couple young guys, one is the owner's son who's still in high school.

You may be a coward (or very, very mentally ill) and decide to kill yourself, but why do it at someone else's business? In front of other patrons? Families come in there to shop, it's not a small range and has a decent size store, plus I always see kids in there with their parents.

This has been happening a lot lately, but it's too close to home for me. I'm there every day or two at the range and I spend at least 30 minutes to an hour hanging out with the regulars and the people that work there. it's like a little family with the employees and us regulars.

At least he didn't feel the need to take other people with him.

Ignorant to make other people have to clean up your mess though.

Opt for the massive Heroin injection.

Ecstasy and then just nothing ...bye~bye and no brain matter, blood, teeth, and other messy organic stuff all over the floor, ceiling, and walls.
