With the kind of politicians they have in the PRK you can bet crime will run rampant.

That is really scary. I used to live right across the railroad tracks in Alameda. Oakland was were young cops went to establish their careers. No civilian in their right mind would cross those tracks. That city is gonna make Chicago look like Shangri la.

I just wish they would split California like they were talking about doing years ago.

Yeah, the officers rejected the latest deal, so some get laid off and the rest have that possibility hanging over their head, with little chance of advancement.
Budgets are tight everywhere, sadly, Oakland has chosen this route, union busting?

Cops. We don't need no stinking cops!!
With the wonderful people in Oakland, I'm sure they can do a better job of policing themselves than the LEO's ever could.

Just a guess, but I suspect that the calls that they will not be responding to would be report calls. I would also guess that they will respond to the same calls (at least certain ones) that are "now" calls.

Union busting? No. More likely, trying to bring the taxpayers to their knees so they will beg for a tax increase. So tell me, if California is broke, and they are, why are they providing services for illegal aliens, but cutting back on cops.

OBTW: Jerry Brown did such a great job as mayor, he now wants to bring the benefits of Oakland to All of California, he's running for governor.

The way I heard it [on NBC national news tonight] is they (the police of Oakland) will not respond to calls unless it is a crime of violence. . . all other calls for police response are to be made via the internet?????
