Nine injured, one dead after six shootings Friday night

Another night in St. Louis. Some interesting observations:

    1. None of the victims were reported to be armed.
    2. All the shootings occurred between 10:11 PM and 1:15 AM.
    3. A 15-year-old was sitting in a car buying marijuana when he was shot. (The reporter spelled "marijuana" wrong, spelling it as "marajuana".)
    4. A 17-year-old was leaving a nightclub at 1:15 AM when he gets shot.
    5. A 22-year-old was arguing with someone about a girlfriend, also at 1:15 AM in another part of the city, and he gets shot in the groin. I'd say he lost the argument.
    6. Several of these were preventable by the ones who were shot.
    7. grady wasn't anywhere near any of them. :)

(KMOV) -- The weekend got off to a gruesome start with six shootings. Nine people were injured, two of them in critical condition, and one was killed.

    -----

Police said three people were shot in the 4500 block of Davison in north city at about 10:11 p.m. A 37-year-old man was shot twice and is listed in critical condition at an area hospital. A 17-year-old female and a 19-year-old female were both shot, but are not considered life threating.

The victims were standing outside with several others when two people began firing shots from across the street. Police are investigating, and are unsure if the suspects were targeting the victims.

    -----

Police said a 15-year-old male was shot at about 11 p.m. in the 5500 block of Herbert. Authorities said the victim was sitting in a car purchasing marajuana when the suspect began firing at him.

The victim escaped the car with a gunshot graze to the head. Police said the suspect knows the victim and are looking for him.

    -----

Authorities said two people were shot in a house in the 5600 block of Acme at about 12:01. A 29-year-old woman is listed in critical condition after being shot in the back and an 11-year-old girl was shot in the leg and is not considered life threatening.

Police said the suspects shot the victims from outside the house. Police said they were targeting someone inside the house, but not either of the victims.

    -----

Police said a 17-year-old man was shot in the thigh at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday in the 6300 block of West Florissant. The victim was leaving a nightclub when a large fight broke out. A car pulled up during the fight and people from inside the car fired shots.

    -----

Authorities said a 22-year-old man was shot at 1:15 a.m. Saturday in the 6000 block of Delmar. Police said the victim got into an argument with two people over one of their girlfriends when gunfire broke out.

The victim was shot in the groin, but is not considered life threatening. Police said the victim knows the suspects and police are searching for them.

Well Grady if you had been near I'm willing to guess some others would not be walking upright.

Some people think Maine is getting bad. They lack a huge clue.

It happens every single day grady. I see it every single day in a predominantly black neighborhood. It's sad, disheartening and pathetic. A vigil will be held,..... people will show up and say "he was a good boy, getting his life together". It's been goin' on for years. The churches don't step up. There's NO role models and the circle continues. A total attitude of entitlement. I can only HOPE that they (yes, the minorities) get training and be proficient with their firearms. If they want to kill each other, THEN GET IT DONE!. Don't tread on this "cracker". It's a "sub culture".

Only 9 injured? You people can't shoot. Last night at the Black Expo, here in Indy, we had 10 shot!

More shooting, eh? I guess all those gun laws and signs aren't working so well.
Instead of making MORE laws, each one of those doing the shooting, when arrested and convicted, shouldn't see the light of day for 20-30 years. That would be an effective gun law...IMHO

I know how that one could have been avoided.
    1. Don't smoke pot.
    2. If you do, don't stiff the dealer.
