The following information was provided by the Cabell County Sheriff's Office:
ARMED ROBBERY: An 85-year-old Huntington woman who lives in the 5000 block of Shawnee Drive was robbed by two men at about 9 p.m. July 16.
The report states the victim heard the doorbell ring and answered to find two young men, whom she said looked like teenagers. The first told her their vehicle broke down and would like to use the phone. She said no and tried to shut the front door. At that point, the man shoved open the door and the two entered. The first man took out a large knife and held it to her throat and told her to tell them where the money and jewelry was kept. The second suspect did not speak, but followed the victim around the house as she pointed out where the jewelry was. After about 20 minutes, they put her in the bathroom and told her to shut the door and sit down for five minutes.
After she heard the front door close, she left the bathroom and found that the suspects had cut the phone lines. Upon arrival, deputies also found that the suspects had slashed one of the tires of the victim's car.
An estimated $2,300 in jewelry was taken.
