It makes a person wonder what sort of drugs the judge was on when considering what possible good the felons had to offer society. Here, I'd certainly be a bit bummed about being so light on the sentencing. Murder? 25yrs plus. Attempt but fail? Half that. Make a solid emulation of it? 10yrs minimum. But that's just me.
The citizens were "just" injured. They weren't crippled or killed. So, in Australia, perhaps four years is their legal standard.
