INDIANAPOLIS

A masked man armed with an assault-style rifle fired dozens of shots on a birthday party at a house in an inner-city Indianapolis neighborhood early Tuesday, killing two people and wounding six before fleeing, police said.

Around 30 people were attending the birthday barbecue when the shooting happened shortly after midnight, Indianapolis police Lt. Jeff Duhamell said. A motive was not immediately known.

A man and a woman died at the scene and six people were taken to the hospital in stable condition, including one partygoer who had been shot in the neck and another who was shot in the back, Duhamell said.

"We're talking at least 25-30 rounds from a high-powered rifle, so although eight people were shot, it could've been a lot worse," he said.

We have yet to see a self-defense shooting by an armed employee/employer against a disgruntled armed employee. As long as gun disarmament laws are in place at most businesses, more things like this are gonna happen around the country and the gun control crowd is going to have a field day over this.

Wasn't meant to be amusing, it was however factual. I have 2 LEO friends who responded to the Black Expo shootings, and last nights shooting was on the same street a good friend lives. As she said "IT'S TOO DA*# HOT. PEOPLE HAVE NOTHING TO DO SO THEY HANG IN THE STREETS, HAVE SHORT TEMPERS, AND IT WON'T CHANGE TILL THE WEATHER GETS COOLER."

exactly my friend, how much safer would you feel if you knew 5-6 of your fellow employees were packing and had good training?
I brought security with my managers today...all but one laughed...oh, youre just paranoid...

It's hard to defend yourself in these 'free to shoot anyone zones'. Our only hope is to remain armed and alert...avoid places where one cannot be armed or become a potential target.
I'm sure that there are plenty of other 'copycats' out there who are at the end of their rope...sad days for sure.
