It would be funny if it wasn't so darned scary!
If you have never broken your gun or bled on your gun in training, you're doing it wrong!

How does one forget their gun on top of the car? Better yet, why does one put it on top of the car?? It's not like putting a cup up there because you need to unlock the door...you would think it was previously tucked into his pants. Why put it up there??

A holster could have solved his problem...

I wonder if this sort of thing would get around the Washington State requirement that you cannot carry a loaded long gun in a vehicle... "but officer, it is not in the vehicle, it is on the vehicle"

    RCW 77.15.460
Loaded firearm in vehicle — Unlawful use or possession — Penalty.

    (1) A person is guilty of unlawful possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle if:

    (a) The person carries, transports, conveys, possesses, or controls a rifle or shotgun in or on a motor vehicle; and

    (b) The rifle or shotgun contains shells or cartridges in the magazine or chamber,
Oh wait! looks like they planned ahead for it! No shotgun on the roof for me!

I am surprised it did not fall off the roof when he was driving around.

I was thinking maybe a little mount of some sort with a handle on it similar to a spotlight and some twine to activate the trigger......
