Undercover cop/unmarked car brandishes a weapon b4 announcing himself

I'm sure you've guys seen this story in the news by now. A guy (Anthony Graber) on a motorcycle gets pulled over by an plain clothes State Trooper in an unmarked car and brandishes his weapon as soon as he gets out of the car; well before he ever announces his identity. The story made national news because the gentleman that was pulled over happen to be wearing a helmet cam and filmed the whole incident. He uploaded the video on YouTube. In retaliation of this, he is facing 16 years in prison for "wiretapping". The police showed up at his house and confiscated his computers, etc.

I'm linking the story as well as video below for your viewing.

First of all, I think it's absurd to suggest that a traffic stop can't be taped as well as prevented from being uploaded to YouTube, etc.

I also, however, want to say that I'm not taking up for Graber because this was probably a legit pull over. You see it on YouTube all of the time; guys filming themselves driving fast and racing on public roads. Most likely, Graber was doing just this - to show everyone how fast his bike is, etc. I'm assuming the pull over was legit and have no gripes with this. What disturbs me is how it was done. I'm thinking that if a marked car was not behind me and a guy in an unmaked car with plain clothes cut me off; brandished his weapon as soon as he started to exit the car and started yelling at me, I'd probably draw and plant plant two in his chest - well before he would've ever had a chance to place his hands on my bike and decide to tell me he's State Police. I'm sure the way this officer acted is in violation of procedural protocol. I"d love to hear what any LEOs would have to say about the proper way they were taught in how they should perform a pull over. What is the etiquette? When should an officer announce himself? I'm sure if Garber had shot the officer, he would be in a world of hurt but at the same time I'm thinking that if this officer continues to act in this fashion, he could very well get shot by announcing his identity so late after he brandished his weapon. I wonder if his superiors chewed him out over this?? I wonder if he's getting razzed now that this has made national news?

I'm not wishing any harm on the officer in this but at the same time I find it very disturbing that someone could get 16 years for video taping a LEO? LEOs film people all the time, via on-dash cams.

Any thoughts, comments, concerns is greatly appreciated.
