They always think they can out drive the cops and outrun a Motorola.

If I was in charge... for the first 30 seconds after a police chase ends, the cops are immune from prosecution from any tuneups they have to do before stuffing and cuffing the guy.

Not forgetting helicopters with FLIR,where the BG's think they outran the Cops so they bail outta the vehicle only to be swarmed by LEO

They're not called dirtbag because of their high I.Q.'s...
"That I cannot do."
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."

Be careful what you wish for. Too many cops are judge, jury, and executioner already.
I remember the video where the perp crashed the car and was thrown out unconscious. Five cops ran up and began to pound on this guy, kicking, batons, clubbing. When the video surfaced, their excuse was, "We ordered him to put his hands up and he failed to comply."
Enough.

The citizens the driver tried to kill should have the first (and only) crack. After that, the cops should try their best to maintain their professionalism, as hard as it might be after a heart-pounding, sustained, high-speed chase. I certainly understand the sentiment, however.
