In the heat of the moment, what matters is what your body knows -- not what your mind knows.
Since that seems to be a problem in Turkey, maybe someone should market blanks there as "celebratory ammo". Then again, would just encourage more of the irresponsible behavior that should never happen in the first place. I wonder what those other bullets hit when they came down from the sky.

He snuffed out his Father & two of his Aunts and 8 other guests were wounded when he raked them with auto-fire.
I wonder if those eight wounded guests wanted their wedding gifts back?

The first time I was in Iraq, they won a big middle east soccer tournament. They went absolutely Bat-Poop crazy with the celebratory fire - it was literally raining lead in the compound. However, Joe was not so pleased with all those AKs going off, and returned fire on a number of occasions. That's what the police should start doing in Turkey (and the rest of those countries, where celebratory fire is so common) - SHOOTING BACK. That might "curb" some of it...Turks are notorious for breaking out into gunshots to celebrate weddings and sports victories, a practice that has caused many deaths and which authorities have so far failed to curb.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.
Oh man, I wonder what 'ol Darwin would say to this?

"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"

(CNN) -- Three family members at a wedding in Turkey have been accidentally shot dead by the groom firing an AK-47 rifle in celebration.
The groom, Tevfik Altin, lost control of his rifle, spraying the guests with bullets and killing his father and two aunts and injuring six others, according to CNN Turk.
It reported that Altin had been arrested after the incident in the village of Akcagoze in southeastern Turkey. Guns are often fired into the air in celebration in some parts of Turkey.
One family member, who did not give his name, told CNN: "It happened very quickly. We all tried to take cover and there was blood all over. We are all very sad right now."
The injured guests included three children aged 10, 12 and 16, according to CNN Turk.
The Sehitkamil State hospital where some of the injured were brought confirmed it has one patient still in the hospital.
