How we behave as gun owners is important. Posturing and threatening does not serve us well in the public eye.

Both,...geez.did he think he was a car bomber or something? would have been more effective to unload all the ammo and fill the powder into cans...

It wasn't immediately clear how the gunman died.
Just speculation but I would say death wish followed by forceful lead injection.

Dings have become as great a concern to me as criminals.

Anyone who burns up a perfectly good truck load of ammo ought to be shot!

At least he couldn't shoot straight...
We're all in favor of reducing violent crime. It's just that pro-gunners have a method that is proven effective. Anti-gunners don't.

That's the whole thing....what in your mind constitutes "heavily armed"? I mean to the point of either engaging a terrorist, or hiding and finding cover? Do you let a simple display of armament deter you from making a choice? Or would it be the demeanor of the perpetrator of violence? When do you decide? Time is always important. A few seconds, you could take them out......a few more, and there could be innocent victims laying all around you and you wishing you never had a gun on you. Think about this if you carry........when. When is right? What will intimidate you? What are your limits, and what are you able to do? You never know. Be ready, or be a victim. Be willing to die with your choices either way. It's no game.

    Suicide by Cop? Psycho? Both?

All of the above IMO . . . I doubt that a recent and sudden cessation of depression meds led to this. Event took too much time, planning and preparation to execute.

You're right Guantes . . . I'm gonna watch out for 'Dings' just as much as crims.

Very thought provoking post as usual.

There seems to be a wide variety in what people carry, from "rambo" to designer guns. This coupled with the situation and mindset of all involved does need to be considered.
