Two Dead, Including Bishop, in Shooting at Calif. Mormon Church

Coincidentally, today I asked my church leader how he would feel about me carrying at church. His response, "Why would you want to carry a gun?"
We're all in favor of reducing violent crime. It's just that pro-gunners have a method that is proven effective. Anti-gunners don't.

Show him this It looks like there are more deadly force incidents in churches than in schools or shopping malls.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.

It's sad, but if your looking for victims on a Sunday, what comes to mind for a large group? I'll wear mine to church!

Unfortunately that is so true - and as a part of that disbelief, they are caught completely off guard - surprised, defenseless, and helpless. And they do it to themselves.

Not just these days, they never have been.

The thought is a false concept that has never been congruent with actual world and US history.
Attacks against places of worship and the people within them has long been commonplace.

A good man, serving others, getting nothing out of his service but the peace of helping others out and is shot down for no good reason. Doesn't appear the shooter even knew the Bishop. Sad deal...

Condolences to the families of the dead.

I've got a Mormon friend who I've been trying to get involved in gun ownership. No luck yet.
