Two years!
I wish Virginia had a "Felony Murder" charge (or whatever other states call it) when if someone dies as a result of a felony, all participants in the original felony are equally guilty of murder.

Trent Rashad Jones, one of two men charged with murder in the shooting death of New Year's Eve designated driver Charles Carver Gardner II, pleaded guilty today to burglary and was sentenced to serve two years in prison.

What a joke, two years for participating in a robbery where someone was shot and killed.
This is why we DO NOT need more gun laws, just use the laws that are already on the books instead of letting dirtbags plea bargain.

A total miscarriage of justice, I agree there needs to be a felony murder charge and send them away for the maximum time.

Makes me wonder... Who's side are they on?

No offense but I do not believe in harsh prison terms.... why... because they are too harsh on the tax payers. We must not elect to keep these animals alive on the tax payers dime for free for the rest of their lives.
I believe in an eye for an eye.
Send them to prison for 2 years mandatory sentence. At the end of mandatory sentence, if no appeals have been filed or won, or innocence proven, then immediate execution on the day of the 2nd year. No questions asked, just hang at the gallows by the neck until dead.
That should be the death sentence agree'd upon by all states.

you know that will never happen with all the human rights activists now a days. but yeah, i'm all for an eye for an eye too.
as for the tax burden, many prisons are already overwhelmingly over populated.. every time they put away someone, someone gets set free. which is why i'm for an eye for an eye... so regardless of longer terms or not, prisons are gonna be overcrowded and people are gonna be let out prior to their terms.

Really want the answer to that? ...Whomever pays them the most and has the least vocal oversight.
