When I was an LEO back in the early 80's,we got a call "man down",upon arrival we had a lasy motion to us from the backyard.She was pretty traumatized after finding her husband after he committed suicide with a 22 rifle.IIRC he was in his early 80's and had been diagnosed with terminal cancer,when the pain became unbearable and saw how much his wife suffered he decided to end both of their sufferings.There was a suicide note left and even tho his wife was hurting she understood his motive.

Actually I think this may have happened before,both are in bed,husband pulls out a handgun while wifes sleeping next to him,as he shoots himself in the head the bullet goes thru and strikes the wife in the head

I read about it in the paper this am (Houston) & what they said did not really make sense to me.....it said something to the effect that he was
on top of her & shot himself in the stomache.
EDIT: This is the story that came from the online version of the paper.....does not match exactly what I read for some reason.

My wife was battling Cancer when we got married and after seeing what she went through I can understand why someone would do this. I don't neccessarily agree with his solution but I can understand it. My wife survived and Sept. 21 will be our 19th anniversary and she has been Cancer free for 18 1/2 of those years.

My mother in law is living her last few weeks,maybe months,has incurable cancer,wife has to give her shots of morphine,started out about 2.5 milligrams,currently needs 45 milligrams and still has pain
