Interesting. A shooter contemplating an ending with suicide usually doesn't bother with a mask.

Here is another link, it seems like no one else but the shooter was wounded, thank God.

As a College Senior, I detest the fact that I am denied my 2nd amendment rights on campus. Our campus police is far and few between, usually patrolling the city for disorderly conduct. The campus is wide open with no security checkpoints what so ever, anyone can walk into any building with anything and it's scary.

But what are my alternatives? Oh you don't like that you can't defend yourself on campus? Well then don't get a college education.

I find myself carrying less and less frequently as opposed to every single day like I used to because about 70% of my time is spent on campus. I take as many precautions as I can to make sure I'm in a safe environment on my way home or with friends late at night but who's to stop someone like this from coming on campus at 11 am and opening fire?

Sorry this was a bit of a rant, just my two cents.

Target rich environment with the threat of armed intervention practically nil unless there is a off duty legally armed LEO taking classes

This must be what one of my friends in TX was talking about on Facebook this morning. Something about an AK at UT.....some wiseass decided to comment as if it were a joke. That's not funny at all. It appears the gunman killed himself. Hope no one else was hurt.

To quote a comment I saw on another forum.

How could this happen? Guns are BANNED on campus. I do not understand.

This could become a political football here in Texas. Gov. Perry in the past said he thought Texans with a CHL should be allowed to anywhere in the state. It will be intersting to see if he or Bill White jump on this.
Last I heard this was a near perfect outcome. A little property damage and no injury except the self inflicted one. I hope that doesn't change.

The only explanation is that the "no gun" signs are not prominent enough. I mean if you are in a killing mentality, you are totally focused...you are completely going to miss the signs. We need to have all the "no gun" signs have flashing red lights on them. That way they'll see them and realize that they can't enter the campus armed.

Until the weak minded people accept the fact that thugs will take advantage of any place where people are not legally able to defend themselves, these things will continue to happen.

I hope nobody else got hurt. That's a miserable piece of news. University shooters always hit home for me.
