Bank Robbed by Armed Robbers Twice in Three Months
Went to make a deposit for the church today only to find out that our bank had just been robbed, AGAIN. It was robbed in June by a guy who got away on a bicycle.
Today the guy got away on foot.
Chase Bank Robbed Again
For the second time in a little more than three months, Chase National Bank on Clark Road has been a victim of an armed robbery.
According to the scanner, the crime occurred about 10:55 a.m. today. Police are looking for a white male in his 50s with white and graying hair. He came in with a cane, wearing plaid pajama-style pants and a light brimmed hat.
The subject was last seen possibly heading northbound on Clark on foot. He also was armed with a gun, however, police are unsure what kind of gun was used. Police also received a report of a white SUV traveling northbound on Clark Road at the same of the crime. Police says witnesses say the driver was driving recklessly enough that he almost caused an accident.
It's unknown if that vehicle is connected to the crime, but Police Chief Chris Buzzard told a Post reporter that law enforcement officials would like to speak to that driver. Police have located a similar vehicle at Fastrip, but it wasn't the same one that was seen driving erratically in the area around the same time as the crime.
The bank had been robbed on June 29 by the "Fedora Bandit." Police say they will be conducting an investigation for at least another hour inside the bank while FBI is en route to the scene. It's unclear at this time how long Chase Bank will be closed.
