Unfortunately, you can't carry a handgun while bowhunting in CT. Doesn't make any sense to me, but there's no way I'm risking any of my licenses.

Have enough bow, or should I say have enough arrow?

People ask me why I dont bow hunt. I tell them why should I when I have nice guns that I like to shoot!

Where and when lawful; I do carry a concealed handgun when hunting.
Where and when not lawful; I do carry OC/CS concealed when hunting.

Glad to hear some states are changing the laws.

A friend was out hunting on Prince of Wales Island a few years back. He had two rifles, already had one deer in his truck, killed a second, and had one rifle visible in the cab as he went out to carry the buck to the road (carrying to other rifle; bear country). Some game thieves tried to bully him into handing over both deer. He was very patient with them, telling them they really did not want to do that (multi tour Viet Nam combat veteran). They finally agreed when he stepped out in the open with a rifle in his hand.

Well, I don't think I could be that calm about the situation, having never been in combat, nor do I think I want to carry a rifle while getting a deer to the road, but a .45 seems a good deal easier to carry, and good insurance against free lance socialists.
