Odd: Don't bring salad dressing to a gunfight

Teen armed with salad dressing backs down when store owner pulls gun

Teenager accused of robbing one DeLand store, trying to rob another

DeLand police said a teenager threatened to shoot a store owner Friday when he robbed a convenience store, but he didn't show a gun.

    http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/...,4298984.story
    This is just, well, weird.

The teenage robber went into one store, claimed to have a gun, and obtained money. Later, he decided to rob another store, using a bottle of salad dressing as a weapon and threatening the proprietor.

The proprietor was armed, and drew on the robber. The young would-be robber remembered he had pressing business elsewhere and beat a hasty retreat, right into the responding officers, who took him into custody.

So, add bottles of salad dressing to the list of things one should not bring to a gunfight.....

The lure of what would seem easy money continues to draw those that are not suited to that career niche.

Is it still armed robbery if the BG pretends to have a gun?

I hope it wasn't low fat. That stuff is dangerous!

I had heard about not bringing a knife to a gunfight, but I had never heard about not bringing a bottle of salad dressing

Teen armed with salad dressing backs down when store owner pulls gun

What type of salad dressing was it?

I don't know if I'd want to mess with the Italian Dressing. Hummmm....If he backed down at the sight of a gun it could possibly have been French Dressing.

That salad dressing had passed it's expiration date so it would have been a hazardous material.

AFAIK, it is, at least in most states. Threat of armed force and if the victim believes you, doesn't matter if you actually have a gun or not.
