Sounds OK except I would never leave a gun in a car unless it was really locked down; maybe he'll carry that gun now (assuming he gets it back).
Anti-gunners seem to believe that if we just pass enough laws, we can have utopia. Unfortunately, utopia is NOT one of our choices.

Guy was inside the truck, so was the revolver. Guy was gone, so was the revolver. If it looks, quacks and walks like a duck, probably is a duck! If this individual had gotten his hands on the wife, whole situation could have gone downhill fast.

Not to mention his wife should never have gone out to investigate unarmed. Geez. How many mistakes in one night can you get away with?

from article:
Smith said Carreon fired more than one shotgun blast at the man because he thought his wife was in danger.
The suspect ran away after the shooting, scrambled into a nearby car and drove away. He ended up at the hospital and may have been driven there by an accomplice.
Carreon's handgun was not found inside the truck and police to did not say if it was found elsewhere.
Boy, talk about negligence on the officers part.
I would bet dollar to dougnuts the only way that firearm turns up is after a homicide.

It's Texas, he'll get a reward.
