Good : Potential Victim Thwarts Robbers!
This is from the Police Blotter in our local Liberal Rag commonly known as the Herald-Dispatch. I love it!
ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY: A 53-year-old man reported that he was getting out of his vehicle at about 12:45 a.m. Nov. 7, in the 300 block of 5th Avenue, when he was approached from behind by two men demanding money and a wallet.
When the victim turned around, he told police, one of the two suspects had a large knife, but they fled toward the railroad tracks.
The victim said he thinks they fled because they saw that he was carrying a gun in his belt. The two men were black, wearing toboggans, dark jackets and tan work boots

Yeah, but they got away and will look for another less prepared victim! Too bad he didn't ventilate the both of them.

Yeah, I really have no idea what they meant by that.
Did they have actual sleds strapped across their backs?

Another story the media won't really expand upon...the prevention of a crime by just being armed.
They should look for those toboggan criminals over on the next hill...they shouldn't be hard to spot.OMO

Toboggan is another word for a beanie or a skull cap. Service members may call them a watch cap (only cause that is how they are listed by CIF). The knit hats that people wear during the winter. Probably derived the name as they are commonly worn while conducting winter activities such as sledding or Tobaggoning.......

Seems like they brought a knife to a gun fight. Good job by the 53 year old man.

I'm glad it turned out well for the old man, depending on circumstances, it could have gotten ugly very quickly.

Gee, how does someone balance on his watch cap well enough to slide down the hill?
