"because the owner had a weapon nearby".

    Nice.

    Nice.
The news lady sounded like a 'dork'...laughing about having a weapon nearby.

Congrats to another permit holder (I presume).

Ya, I didn't quite get her point on the laughing.

When I first heard of this story, there was no mention of a firearm. Figures.

While the female was being a little smart alecky, I don't think she was being anti gun. Her comment, "The owner had a weapon nearby", was followed by, "Lesson learned on that one.". To me it implied that the lesson learned by the gator, was don't mess with the dog of someone with a weapon/gun.

Very cute doggie! I hope Lizabeth recovers very soon. But IMO the laughing lady was totally out of line. I wonder if she still had laughed if she had been the one attacked by an alligator

I disagree. I saw her comments as supportive of the dog owner. Listen closely.

If a damn gater grabbed my Jack Russel, I don't know if I would shoot it or jump in with my knife. All of the dogs I have had were family.
