Columbia Sportswear's Gert Boyle survives home invasion robbery
you can watch an old interview with her, she is a spunky lady:WEST LINN -- Columbia Sportswear Chairman of the Board Gert Boyle survived a home invasion robbery Wednesday night.
West Linn Police said a man approached Boyle at gunpoint at her home just before 7 p.m. She triggered the panic alarm in her home security system, and when police arrived they found Boyle with her hands bound. A police sergeant also saw the suspect running from the home, and police dogs and crews began a manhunt. A suspect was taken into custody just before midnight, and police are interviewing him as they continue to investigate.
A Columbia Sportswear spokesman told NBC News that Boyle suffered minor injuries, including bumps and bruises, but is otherwise fine.
Boyle is a famous face of Columbia Sportswear, the company her parents founded. Her tough demeanor is reflected in her 2005 autobiography, "One Tough Mother."
Glad she is ok. She needs a shotgun, not a panic alarm. Kudos to the responding officers.
