For some.....it's just another day just like the rest of days. Reverence, respect, tradition.....etc. Crime has no respect for anything, and never takes a time out for the holidays. Matter of fact....crime flourishes this time of year since it's harvest season and easy prey. There's no immunity from crime on any given day. The holidays are a time for the rest of us to be aware of what's out there. The media portrays many more "tragedies" over the holiday season than any other time of year. What do you think the reasons are for this? Focus and headlines. During a more traditional and family season things seem to have more of an impact. Crimes might not actually grow during this time....they just become more visible and meaningful even though the tragedies are the same no matter what time of year they occur.
