I believe there is a mistake in the article...they mistakenly called this dirtbag a 'grandfather'.![]()

I was just helping to fill out the paperwork to receive an allotment of toys from the Marines at my American Legion Post. You wouldn't believe the hoops you have to jump through because of dirtbags like this. Apparently people would just ask for toys for some organization and they would be fraudulently received.
Treat me good, I'll treat you better. Treat me bad, I'll treat you worse.
I'm pretty sure that there are some Marines in Louisiana who wouldn't mind having a discussion with this guy. The USMCR HQ is down there actually. It's a shame that such a great program falls prey to acts like this, but that is awfully generous of the local casino to make that donation.
Just last week a hard charger doing a Toy's for Tots drive was stabbed while trying to stop a shoplifter in Georgia: http://www2.wjbf.com/news/2010/nov/3...ut-ar-1148874/ Thankfully he is okay.
And as a shameless plug, remember this holiday season, if you can afford it, to donate a toy or some money to the program. That statement is in no way official, just my personal opinion.

I would have allowed him to keep the toys till Christmas day then had a couple local Marines escort him to deliver them along with an apology to everyone he had to give toys to for trying to steal them.
Similiar happened here yesterday. A Salvation Army bell ringer was assaulted and robbed of the kettle. Imagine the robbers surprise had the bell ringer had a gun to protect himself with.
UPDATE: The Salvation Army bell ringer has been arrested. It appears he was part of a plan to steal the money from the kettle. Another man has also been charged.
This is bad. I am glad they caught the bg and got everything back.
Yep... last yr 2 idiots stole $10,000 worth of toys from Toys for Tots out of the facility they take them to (they have to lock this stuff up better)
But, the community responded, and in 3 days..... the public had responded to this act by delivering an extra $30,000 worth of toys. About 1 week later ... the 2 were arrested and many of the toys recovered. Kids had a good year.
The motorcycle run we go on for Toys for Tots..... gets up to about 6,000 motorcyclist.
