When the Mexican army finally showed up after the gunfight, they found four dead and two injured gang members piled in a heap outside the shelled, bullet-pocked farmhouse.

That's what our ranchers will be facing if the feds don't get off their asses, or if the feds have their way in trying to impede states' actions.

He's becoming a national hero down there.... seems "the people" are finally getting fed up with the cartels and wanting to start fighting back some.

Exclamation He was a brave man.

From the NY Post article: "The lionhearted rancher was ready when two truckloads of heavily armed gang members returned the next morning." They were surprised that he fired on them when they showed up . . they dropped their assault rifles and began throwing grenades into his house!!!

Sounds a lot like 'war' to me. Grady, I'm sorry say that the feds have clearly demonstrated they will not get off their asses in this issue; will continue to impede states' self preserving actions. Their [Feds] help is not coming - we're on our own!

The guy was 77! Hell of a way to go out. We could start up a scholarship in his honor to provide guns to law-abiding Mexican citizens, heh.

There are far worse ways of dying at that age (or any age).
    It's still sad though.
I hope his death will inspire the Mexican population to finally rise up against these cartels...and put them out of business for good.

Maybe this will open the eyes of the Mexican government and make the realize that their citizens are willing to fight for the country. Let them have guns and they will help you against the drug lords!

Kinda reminds me of an old guy in a movie "fill your hands you sonsabitches",That was one brave guy that understood if you don't defend yourself no one else will,I wonder what the outcome would have been if he had an AR15 or AR10 to defend with

"The unassuming timber businessman was given a hero's burial last week in his native Monterrey, Mexico."

I'd say Mr Tamez was tired of the threats and figured it was time to make a stand. Wish the old guy would of had some fuses to light and then em a ittle more , RIP
