From the NY Post article: "The lionhearted rancher was ready when two truckloads of heavily armed gang members returned the next morning." They were surprised that he fired on them when they showed up . . they dropped their assault rifles and began throwing grenades into his house!!!
Sounds a lot like 'war' to me. Grady, I'm sorry say that the feds have clearly demonstrated they will not get off their asses in this issue; will continue to impede states' self preserving actions. Their [Feds] help is not coming - we're on our own!

I hope his death will inspire the Mexican population to finally rise up against these cartels...and put them out of business for good.

Maybe this will open the eyes of the Mexican government and make the realize that their citizens are willing to fight for the country. Let them have guns and they will help you against the drug lords!
