If they come to my house, they have made a serious malfunction in their planning. I may get shot, but I won't be alone.

Couldn't they come to my house by mistake?__YES__. Couldn't they be given an address similar to mine?__YES__. Am I ready to deal with handgun, + assault rifle, + shotgun carrying home invaders?__NOT SO MUCH!!
I need to re-think my preparedness!

Very bad situation. That's why they should have guns stashed throughout the house, even in bathrooms and kitchen. Some BG's would have bullets in their skulls.

One home invasion is like another IMO, they should enter verticle and leave horizontal.

So. Gunmen enter the home, and at least one of them has a semiautomatic rifle. Tough situation.
Even if you can make it to a firearm, it's one against multiple armed assailants, and lots of collateral friendlies in the crossfire. Only defense I can think of is that the entire household has to immediately go on the offense with the understanding that not all will survive.
Can't speak for anyone else here, but my home is filled with weapons of various sorts - knives, guns, spears, swords, and various others - and at any point in the home there's something strong at close hand. Problem is, I may be the only one trained to use them. This specific scenario is extremely difficult.
Like the Witchita Horror killings, this home invasion is one in which defense is extremely problematic.

A terrible crime in which the dirtbags should have all been shot at the seen, but unfortunately none of the victims had the needed defensive tools. Hopefully, all will become 'Bubba dates' for the rest of their lives.

We are on the same page, reading stuff like this makes me want a vedio surveillance systems with multiple camera's. Not to mention sick to my stomach, life in solitary confinement would be to good for these punks, I'm sure Va doesn't have the death penalty.

Just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
You have to wonder how many of these people without a conscience are walking around out there.
You just never know.

If one of the people in the apartment had a gun, which of the three should have been their first target? I just read an article the other day about getting into a gunfight one at a time; how would you order the threats in this situation?
