FBI Report: Violent crime drops 6.2% in first half of 2010

Brady group has got to hate stats like this. The gun-law pendulum is swinging back the right way and crime stats have been dropping for years now. It's not the only reason, but it certainly helps.

Interesting how crime rates have continued to shrink annually over the past ten years even as the number of individual states that have supported civilian possession and carry of arms have tripled in that same time. Further all that controversy back in '04 about OMG the 'Assault Weapon Ban' being allowed to sunset (not renew) would result in bloody murder in the streets.

Contrary to then popular opinion and worrisome hand wringers.

Great statistic in favor of firearm possession and concealment. This statistic coincides with the increase of firearm sales. The anti's must be fuming!

Oh, and never mind that annual civilian firearm sales have been at an all time historical peak...Including specifically the year 2009 to which the BATFE indicated that more firearms 'transfers' (sale of new and documented non-face to face sale of used guns) had occurred in that year than in the history of US govt. gun transfer tracking. So many that the BATFE actually ran out of annual supply for Class 3 forms mid year (!).

Anti-gun groups have been proven without doubt this past decade to have been a paper bag filled with hot air.
As for decades their primary argument going back to the 1960s had been more civilian gun ownership will/does equal to greater crime and violence overall....And that guns in the civilian home would result in increased suicides, children being harmed/endangered and folk who carry would be shooting fellow citizens over being cutoff on the highway, missed parking spots at Wal-Mart and all manner of they aren't adult nor 'trained' enough to handle such things predictions off civil unrest and disaster.

Ten years later; Tumbleweeds.

For those folk want to say that the FBI and Dept. of Justice who track and do the metrics on this subject, quarterly, are themselves back door associated to the NRA or GOA and/or are in some way 'biased' then well what more can be said to a fool who believes only in foolishness.
Then of course there are the exact same comparable metrics toward the UK with the results they have had to the opposite in the same time frame. Sucks to be them. : |

The folks over at the Brady Campaign are breathless, even as they now might not know and/or refuse to admit it.
